Sustainable + Resilient Infrastructure

We investigate the behaviour of structural systems through
large-scale experimental testing so that engineers have the tools they need to design safe, resilient, and sustainable structures.

Engineering Sustainable, Resilient Infrastructure

Based in Queen’s University’s Civil Engineering Department, the Woods Research Group studies infrastructure systems to reduce risks, extend service life, and support low-carbon communities.

Expertise

We conduct large-scale structural testing generate novel datasets and new insight into the behaviour of structures under climate change, aging, and extreme loading conditions.

Our group develops computer models, design methods, and practical guidelines for engineers that improve infrastructure sustainability and resilience.
